It is estimated that more than 500,000 migrant workers now live in the Netherlands, most of them from Eastern Europe. Due to the growing economy and increasing labour shortage, this number is expected to increase in the coming years. Suitable housing is required to house this large and growing group of employees. There is a particular need for affordable, flexible housing facilities. However, there is an acute qualitative and quantitative lack of suitable housing for this group of migrant workers at regional and national level: there is a shortage of around 150,000 good-quality housing places in the Netherlands!
This acute shortage leads to adverse consequences, including poor and unsafe housing, disruption to the local community, rising rental prices and damage to the local economy. KAFRA actively advocates for proper treatment and housing for migrant workers. We have developed various modern, professional (temporary) housing types for migrant workers and other target groups.
